Riding safely

Three rules for every rider, in every grade and every race:

  • Red flashing rear light on, for the whole race. Drivers see a flashing light long before they see a rider.
  • Never overtake a car, including the follow car of another grade. If a car is ahead of the bunch, the race waits behind it.
  • Stay left of the centre line, at all times, including on corners and in the sprint. The roads are open to traffic.

Other notes

Hill climb time trial: every grade rides once up the hill. Any road bike; TT bikes allowed. G Grade finishes at the Bollards rather than the top of Blackburn Dr. U19s ride in any grade; separate U17 and U15 grades. Entry $25 · trial licence riders free · transponder hire $15 (buy $20).
